KURTZMAN CARSON CONSULTANTS (KCC) FOUNDERS NAMED ERNST & YOUNG ENTREPRENEUR OF THE YEAR 2007 AWARD FINALISTS IN LOS ANGELESLOS ANGELES, May, 24, 2007 – In recognition of their entrepreneurial achievements and leadership, Eric Kurtzman and Jonathan Carson were selected for the second consecutive year as finalists for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year
® 2007 Award in the Greater Los Angeles region. Both former restructuring attorneys, Kurtzman and Carson founded Kurtzman Carson Consultants (KCC) in 2001 and grew the company into a leading provider of administrative-support and technology solutions for the legal and financial industries. The Ernst & Young awards program recognizes outstanding entrepreneurs on a regional, national and global level who are building and leading dynamic, growing businesses.

During their early careers, Eric Kurtzman and Jonathan Carson identified the need for greater efficiency in managing the administrative aspects of large-scale corporate restructurings. They left their successful legal practices to establish KCC, bringing advanced technology and a higher level of client service to the claims and noticing industry. Today, KCC provides support services and technology infrastructure to some of the country’s largest corporate bankruptcies, thereby reducing administrative costs and burdens of the restructuring process. KCC recently leveraged its technology-driven client services methodology with new service offerings that streamline a growing range of complex corporate transactions and litigation matters, including mergers & acquisitions, class action litigation and complex legal proceedings.
Among other company developments over the past year, KCC opened a new office in Memphis, Tenn., a short distance from Federal Express’ hub, to better serve its clients’ growing document-production and distribution needs. Additionally, the company’s headquarters in Los Angeles relocated to a larger building in El Segundo, Calif. to accommodate its growing staff and operations.
Kurtzman Carson Consultants (KCC) was selected as a finalist from more than 100 nominations by a panel of independent judges. Awards are given to entrepreneurs who have demonstrated excellence and extraordinary success in such areas as innovation, financial performance, and personal commitment to their businesses and communities. Award winners will be announced at a special gala event on June 26, 2007 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. The Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year awards program celebrates its 21st anniversary this year.
Regional award winners are eligible for consideration for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year 2007 national program. Award winners in several national categories, as well as the overall national Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year award winner, will be announced at the annual awards gala in Palm Springs, California on November 17, 2007. The national Entrepreneur Of The Year celebration is part of Ernst & Young’s Strategic Growth Forum. The overall national Entrepreneur Of The Year award recipient is then considered for the world event held in Monte Carlo.
