Jon Orr Chief Financial Officer
Jon oversees the company’s financial and fiscal management to ensure KCC’s leadership maximizes revenues and profitability. He serves as an active member of the Executive Committee, providing advisement on departmental budgeting, internal controls and financial analysis and operational procedures. Jon brings over 11 years financial and business consulting experience to his role as KCC’s Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining KCC, John held positions in the business restructuring services divisions at FTI Consulting, Alix Partners and PricewaterhouseCoopers. He is a certified public accountant and a member of the Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors and Turnaround Management Association. Jon earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Accounting from Creighton University.
James Le Chief Operating Officer
James develops, leads and manages KCC’s business operations to maintain a high standard of excellence in client service, technology development and financial performance. He seeks to improve internal processes and procedures that ensure client retention and new client growth. As a member of KCC’s Executive Committee, James works closely with the CEO and President on the company’s strategic direction and expansion into new markets. Prior to joining KCC, James served as a corporate finance and restructuring consultant with FTI Consulting and PriceWaterhouseCoopers. He is an active member of the Association of Insolvency and Restructuring Advisors, Turnaround Management Association and American Bankruptcy Institute. James earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics, with an emphasis in Accounting and Computing, from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Peter Huh Chief Technology Officer
Peter brings over ten years of technology and business consulting experience to his role as Chief Technology Officer at KCC. As CTO, he oversees both the information technology and application development departments that design, develop and maintain KCC’s internal and external technology solutions. Peter established KCC’s technology standards and software development approach which has fueled KCC’s recognition as a leading technology solution provider for the legal and financial markets. Previously, Peter was a technology and management consultant at Deloitte & Touche, RK Consulting and DMP Consulting where he provided technical consulting for industry leaders such as First Interstate Bank, Citibank and Mattel. Projects have ranged from front-end application design, database design and implementation, Y2K compliance and Web-enabling applications. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology and Economics from the University of California at Los Angeles.
Jason Jay Scott Vice President, Business Applications
As Vice President, Jason maps the development of KCC’s technology solutions to suit clients’ current and future needs. He actively participates in the design and implementation of KCC CaseView, KCC’s proprietary web-based technology that supports KCC’s restructuring and class-action services. In addition, he oversees and manages the administration of some of KCC’s largest cases, including Chevy’s, FLYi, Jillian’s Entertainment, Levitz Home Furnishings, NRG Energy and The LoveSac Corporation. In addition to his consulting duties, Jason practiced corporate litigation and transactional law for several years before joining KCC. He graduated from University of Southern California with a degree in Political Science and earned his Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School.
Robert Klamser Vice President, Operations
As Vice President, Robert drives the strategic development and implementation of internal procedures to maximize productivity of KCC’s operations and provides operational support for the company’s recently launched new service lines. In addition, Robert leads some of KCC’s most complex engagements, such as Collins& Aikman, Pac-West Telecomm, National Equipment Services, Archibald Candy Corporation and The Athlete’s Foot Stores, Inc. For over five years, Robert has played an integral role in supporting the conception and continued improvement of KCC’s technology systems. A member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, Robert graduated Cum Laude from Loyola Marymount University, where he served as the captain of the rowing team, with a degree in Business Administration. He is currently pursuing an MBA at Loyola Marymount University.
Sheryl Betance Director, Restructuring Services
As one of KCC’s longest tenured employees, Sheryl has served in various roles at KCC – from Consultant, Senior Managing Consultant to her current role as the Director of Restructuring Services. Her extensive knowledge of the restructuring process offers clients greater insight into ways to reduce time and costs associated with the administrative aspects of Chapter 11. In addition, she oversees a team of consultants and ensures they undergo extensive training, are equipped with the resources they need to meet clients’ expectations and follow best practices for claims administration, among other things. She has led the claims and noticing aspects of several large restructuring cases including American Restaurant Group, National Equipment Services, Ultimate Electronics, Oneida Ltd., and Delphi Corporation. Sheryl graduated from UCLA with a Bachelor’s degree in Economics.
Fred Brown Director, Memphis Operations
Fred oversees KCC's Memphis operations to ensure accurate and timely delivery of clients’ document-production and delivery needs, in addition to serving as a consultant on some of KCC’s largest cases. He leads a full-service production team, working with each KCC office to develop shipping and production strategies as well as operational processes to offer clients’ greater time and cost-efficiencies. Prior to joining KCC, Fred served as a consultant on large-scale corporate restructuring cases, including Homelife Corporation, TWA and eToys. Fred earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from the University of Florida and a Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Tennessee. He also received his Juris Doctor from the University of Pittsburgh, School of Law. Fred served as the write-on Editor for the Pittsburgh Tax Review and received an Outstanding Leader Award from the University of Tennessee. He is also a member of the University of Florida Alumni Association.
Michael J. Frishberg Senior Managing Consultant
Michael brings extensive corporate restructuring experience to his role as Senior Managing Consultant. He provides senior-level consulting services while supporting KCC’s growth initiatives and serves as an active member on key client engagements supporting clients’ claims administration needs. Prior to joining KCC, Michael was a partner in the Restructuring Group at Kirkland & Ellis LLP in the firm’s New York office. Michael represented debtors and official committees in Chapter 11 restructurings, such as Solutia, Inc., Allegiance Telecom, Inc., Teligent, Inc. Newcor, Inc., and Quality Stores, Inc. Michael graduated with honors from Chicago-Kent College of Law and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of Michigan.
Howard Blaustein Senior Managing Consultant
Howard applies in-depth restructuring industry knowledge and experience to his role at KCC where he develops and maintains relationships with the company’s increasing list of clients. During his sixteen-year legal career, Howard focused on business reorganizations, debt restructurings, debtor and creditors’ rights and financing transactions at Weil, Gotshal & Manges, Mayer, Brown & Platt, and O’Melveny & Myers. He has been involved in dozens of Chapter 11 cases, representing debtors, creditors and acquirers of assets of debtors. Such cases include Eastern Airlines, R.H. Macy & Co., Olympia & York, F&M Distributors, Ormet, Kmart, Enron, Far and Wide Travel, Covanta Energy, Aurora Foods, Phyamerica, Formica and Thermadyne. Howard graduated from Vassar College and earned his J.D. from New York Law School, where he was a Research Editor on the school’s Law Review. He was named in Turnarounds & Workouts’ Special Report of “People to Watch – 2005.”
Francine Gordon Senior Managing Consultant
Francine is a veteran of the Chapter 11 bankruptcy and claims administration industry with nearly 20 years of experience. As a senior consultant, Francine works with clients to ensure that they receive high-quality services tailored to their unique needs. Throughout her career, she has spearheaded the administration of several of the largest Chapter 11 cases ever filed, managing some 100,000 claims aggregating over $50 billion in a ten-year period. Francine has been engaged in mega cases, such as Revco D.S. Inc., to middle market cases, such as Bill’s Dollars Store, Inc, PharMor, McCrory Stores and HomePlace Stores, Inc. Currently, she serves as the Recruitment Director for the International Board of IWIRC (International Women’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation) and serves on the Steering Committee for the IWIRC NorthEast Ohio Chapter. Prior to joining KCC, Francine was one of the chief executives of a national claims administration consulting firm.
Nellwyn Voorhies Senior Managing Consultant
Nellwyn brings over 13 years of legal experience within the Chapter 11 bankruptcy market. As a Senior Consultant and member of KCC’s Business Development team, Nellwyn manages and fosters key client relationships, predominantly on the West Coast. As former Senior Counsel at Levene, Neale, Bender, Rankin & Brill, LLP, she represented either the debtor or a creditors committee in the Chapter 11 cases of Daewoo Motor America, Stateline Hotel, Inc., C&R Clothiers, Kenny Rogers Roasters and Louise’s Trattoria, as well as the equity committee for Clarent Corporation. Prior to Levene, Neale, Nellwyn was an Associate at Sheppard, Mullin, Richter & Hampton, LLP and Baker & McKenzie. She also served as an extern to the Honorable Leslie Tchaikovsky, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge, Northern District of California. Nellwyn earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Georgetown University and a Juris Doctor at the University of California, Berkeley.
Laura DiBiase Senior Managing Consultant
Laura brings over 16 years of experience in the corporate restructuring industry. She currently serves as a senior member of the KCC team, working with clients and prospective clients on defining their administrative-support needs for pending and active restructuring cases. An active participant in industry associations, Laura keeps apprised of industry trends as a contributing editor for the American Bankruptcy Institute Journal. She also serves as an active Recruitment Committee member for the International Women’s Insolvency & Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC) as well as a Steering Committee member for the Northeastern Ohio Network of IWIRC. Prior to joining KCC, Laura spent 12 years as a Legal Consultant and Bankruptcy Manager for technology providers in the bankruptcy, litigation and class action markets. Laura began her professional career as the Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Joseph L. Cosetti, United States Bankruptcy Judge for the Western District of Pennsylvania. She received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Pittsburgh and a Juris Doctor from Ohio Northern University School of Law.
