Senior ConsultantOverviewWork in the interesting and complex world of corporate restructuring and learn from one of the top administrative-support providers in the country. We are currently looking for bright and ambitious individuals to fill the position of Senior Consultant. As a Senior Consultant, you will work hand-in-hand with lawyers, financial advisors and court employees to help administer large corporate Chapter 11 reorganization cases. This position reports to a Senior Managing Consultant and/or the Director of Restructuring Services.
Responsibilities
- Provide legal and administrative support for clients, debtor's counsel and other professionals
- Manage and oversee Consultants for assigned cases
- Anticipate case services and staff needed throughout timeline of cases
- Monitor client communication and ensure clients' needs are met
- Oversee data gathering and management of databases
- Develop noticing strategy and advise Counsel on different service methodologies
- Ensure proper maintenance of service lists of creditors and special parties
- Setup logistics and parameters for contract review
- Coordinate Schedules of Assets and Liabilities and Statements of Financial Affairs
- Oversee and coordinate large scale mailings including preparation of affidavits of service
- Perform review, processing and reconciliation of Proof of Claims
- Setup logistics and guidelines for reviewing Proofs of Claim for Clerical and Project Specialist staff
- Manage case dockets and update KCC public access websites as documents are filed with the court
- Oversee tabulation of votes for solicitation and prepare Voting Certification
- Prepare disbursements including setting up accounts, generating checks and bank reconciliation
- Work with accounting department to prepare monthly invoices
- Monitor Consultant growth and progress and provide feedback to Senior Managing Consultants for review purposes
- Mentor Project Specialists and Junior Consultants
- Manage project profitability by anticipating pre-payments, reviewing time detail and invoices and contacting delinquent accounts
- Travel may be up to 20%
Position Requirements and Skills
- A four-year college degree, preferably in Accounting, Finance, Economics or Business Management
- Three to five years in consulting or professional client services in corporate bankruptcy or related industries including, but not limited to, financial restructuring, claims and noticing or asset disposition
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office - particularly Excel
- Possess above average technical skills to facilitate: creating financial models, databases, pivot tables, analytics, etc
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Energetic and self-motivated
- Possess good interpersonal skills and be able to work in a team
- Be able to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
- Detail oriented, conscientious and reliable
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to self-direct and prioritize initiatives
- Ability to proactively coordinate conflict resolution, utilizing sound judgment and decision-making skills
